In October last year we lost our first truck in an accident on a country road. This truck was written off and we would have to wait until late February 2020 to have a new truck built . We also couldn’t obtain a rental truck (12 tonne with tail lift) anywhere in the north island due to upcoming summer bookings. On the 1st December Colin Davies from On Site Rentals went out of his way and brought a second hand ex food chain truck which he fitted an old tail lift he had lying in his yard specifically for us. This truck got us through the busy summer period until on 22nd February one of my drivers missed the corner at the bottom of the ohope hill and put this rental in its side causing serious injury to our runner/driver. When I rang Colin to explain what had happened his first thought after asking if all were ok, was to get another truck to us from Auckland to Whakatane ASAP which he did within a 6 hour window. I can’t say enough about Colins old school approach to business that other rental companies put into the too hard basket. Without Colins support I’m not sure how we would have got through the past summer before receiving our new truck late April.
